The Vera French School-based Therapy Program has been providing therapy to children and their families since 2001.  The Program has ten Master’s level therapists placed in eighteen elementary schools throughout Scott County.  The Program was developed to provide increased access to mental health services for children experiencing behavioral, emotional and/or psychological problems.  Therapists meet with the children at school.  They also provide assistance to families and school personnel in developing plans for increased assistance and understanding of the needs of children referred.  Through the combination of working together with parents, teachers, principals, guidance counselors and the child, therapists are able to increase success of children in their two primary settings: the home and the school.

Referral information can be obtained from the school principals, nurses, guidance counselors or teachers.  For further information or to make a direct referral you can ask to speak directly to the School-based Therapist at the schools listed.
