
Vera French Frontier Community Support Program
What is the Frontier Program? The Frontier is a day program open Monday through Friday that provides services that assist persons with a Chronic Mental Health diagnosis in a community based setting. Persons who attend the program have been referred by the Vera French Mental Health Center. The goal of the Frontier program is to assist clients to improve their individual strengths and assist in learning and developing new skills while increasing their natural support system. It also offers a safe environment for persons to interact with their peers, receive medication management services, self advocacy training, learning to improve daily living skills along with enhancement of their self direction. Frontier also offers assistance from case workers with financial issues, completing paperwork, contacting doctors and other person of interest to them. The Frontier offers a free cold breakfast and a hot lunch at a cost of $1 and for many persons these will be their only meals of the day.
